Actuator 100lbs. load

The Motion 85615/85616 Ball Drive Actuator provides a miniature package for operating loads up to 100 lbs. The basic construction incorporates the Motion Ball Drive 85206 which is a high efficiency .331 diameter Epicyclic Ball Screw with integral freewheeling at stroke ends to eliminate limit switches. Both 12 VDC and 24 VDC are available and for 115 VAC applications a converter can be specific. The 85615 uses a translating tube for mounting, while the 85616 is an open screw type unit where attachment is made directly to the ball nut.

Motors

DC Motors:

1) 12 VDC Permanent Magnet Brush, 1.6 diameter, 7500 RPM (no load), intermittent duty cycle (60%), 2 wire, enclosed construction, .4 amps no load, 3.4 amps at 100 lbs. with 15:1 ratio.


2) 24 VDC Permanent Magnet Brush, 1.6 diameter, 7500 RPM (no load), intermittent duty cycle (60%), 2 wire, enclosed construction, 2 amps no load, 1.7 amps at 100 lbs. with 15:1 ratio.

Ball Drive

Epicyclic Ball Screw 85206 with integral freewheeling at ends of stroke.

Single stage worn gear type with 626 ball bearing to accommodate ball screw thrust.

Housing: die cast aluminum 380 alloy.

Bearings: Ball Drive shaft supported on sleeve bearing and ball bearing.
Worm and gear materials: heat treated steel.

Lubrication: permanently lubricated with SP500 synthetic grease.

Mounting
Dimensions

85615: minimum retracted centerline mounting dimensions is 3.375 plus stroke. For example: a 3.500 stroke unit will measure 6.875 (3.375 + 3.500) in the retracted position and 10.375 (6.875 + 3.500) in the extended position. A retracted dimension can be specified greater than the minimum. For example: a 3.500 stroke unit could be 12.000 in the retracted position and 15.500 (12.00 + 3.500) in the extended position. Design options add to the minimum retracted dimenstion:

Support bushing: .437

Rod end: 1.188
85616: minimum retracted centerline gearbox mounting hole to nut shoulder is 2.875. For example: a 3.500 stroke unit will measure 2.875 in the retracted position and 6.375 (2.875 + 3.500) in the extended position. A retracted dimension can be specified greater than the minimum.

When the adapter for trunnion mounting is added to the nut, the minimum retracted centerline gearbox mounting hole to the centerline of the .190 holes is 3.062 (2.875 + .187).

When the alternate nut is reversed, this dimension will be 2.201.
