The Motion 85261/85262 Ball Drive Actuator is designed for those applications where the mounting envelope dictates that the motor is to be in line with the ball screw. Motor speed reduction is through a two stage spur gear arrangement with a 10:1 or 20:1 ratio. Most generally the 85261/85262 series is recommended for loads up to 500 lbs. As in the case of the 85151/85152, basic construction incorporates the Motion Ball Drive 85010 which is a high efficiency .653 diameter Epicyclic Ball Screw with integral freewheeling at stroke ends to eliminate limit switches. The 85261 uses a translating tube for mounting, while the 85262 is an open screw unit where attachment is made directly to the ball nut. actuator gearbox actuator mounts

Gear Reducer

Two state spur gear type with 6302 ball bearing to accommodate ball screw thrust.

Housing: die cast aluminum alloy and 6061 aluminum.

Bearings: Ball Drive shaft supported on sleeve bearings and ball bearing. Other shafts supported on sleeve bearings.
Gear materials: steel.

Motor coupling: 70 durometer neoprene with two heat treated steel inserts.

Lubrication: permanently lubricated with synthetic grease. Special lubricants are available for extrem applications such as low temperature.

Mounting
Dimensions

85261: minimum retracted centerline mounting dimension is 4.155 plus stroke. For example: a 3.500 stroke unit will measure 7.655 (4.155 + 3.500) in the retracted position and 11.155 (7.655 + 3.500) in the extended position. A retracted dimension can be specified greater than the minimum. For example: a 3.500 stroke unit could be 12.000 in the retracted position and 15.500 (12.000 + 3.500) in the extended position. Design options add to the minimum retracted dimension:

Support bushing: 1.250

Rod end: 1.875

85262: minimum retracted centerline trunnion pin to nut shoulder is 3.374. For example: a 3.500 stroke unit will measure 3.374 in the retracted position and 6.874 (3.374 + 3.500) in the extended position. A retracted dimension can be specified greater than the minimum. Design options add to the minimum retracted dimension:



When the adapter for trunnion mounting is added to the nut, the minimum retracted centerline trunnion pin to the centerline of the .254 holes is 3.624 (3.374 + .250).

When the alternate nut is reversed, this minimum dimension will be 2.572.
