The Motion 85272 Ball Drive Pedestal Actuator is designed to provide a rigid telescoping mechanism along with a base mount in one integrated unit. For antirotation and support, the square ground inner tube runs in four teflon impregnated bearing pads mounted in the square outer tube. The Motion Ball Drive 85010 is housed in the inner tube and driven through a 10:1 spur gear reduction in the base. Because of the integral freewheeling at stroke ends, limit switches are not required. Most generally the 85272 is recommended for compressive loads up to 500 lbs.

Gear Reducer

Bearings: Ball Drive shaft and pinion supported on sleeve bearings. Gears run on hardened steel shafts.
Gear materials: steel pinion, nylatron and delrin gears.

Motor coupling: 60 durometer neoprene with two heat treated steel inserts.

Lubrication: permanently lubricated with SP500 synthetic grease.

Mounting
Dimensions

Minimum retracted dimension from base to top of inner tube is 11.000. In the extended position this dimension is 17.000 (6.000 stroke). Typically the mounting to the square inner tube is customer specified. In most applications an adapter is welded directly to the inner tube. It can be piloted down into the tube by 1.500. The tube has an inside dimension of 1.274 square.
